April 24, 2010 the Colorado River Astronomy Club celebrated Astronomy Day. It was also  the 20th anniversary of the Hubble Telescope. The club had about a dozen telescopes and binoculars for the public to view.

Blythe High School and Blythe Middle school science teachers worked with the club to give extra credit and hands on experience with knowledge learned from the classroom. The picture to the left shows club member Jim Harry working with the youth from the schools.

The club via its members strive to do community outreach with the public and all interested groups. A local church had a lecturer that talked about astronomy and how it relates to the Bible. The club offered to the local minister to have members of the congregation visit after the lecture. Many families and church members visited.

One observer brought his own telescope that his grandfather bought him. Club members helped this young observer to operate his new telescope. Within an hour he was an expert and was proudly letting the public use his scope to look at Moon.
